Research shows that difficulties such as poverty or trauma during childhood can pose challenges later in life.
What is the slingshot invention and how does it impact communities?
Using a process called vapor compression distillation, a single Slingshot can purify more than 250,000 liters of water per year, enough to satisfy the needs of about 300 people. And it can do so with any water source—sewage, seawater, chemical waste—no matter how dirty.

What makes the slingshot different then other purifying devices?
Slingshot is a water purification device created by inventor Dean Kamen. Powered by a Stirling engine running on a combustible fuel source, it claims to be able to produce drinking water from almost any source by means of vapor compression distillation, requires no filters, and can operate using cow dung as fuel.
How does vapor compression distillation work?
In the VC process, the vapor produced by evaporating the water is compressed to increase the saturation pressure and temperature. This compressed vapor is then condensed to produce WFI by transferring its latent heat to infeed water in a heat exchanger.
What happened Dean Kamen?
First of all, NO, the inventor of the Segway PT, Dean Kamen, is not dead! His body was found in the Wharfe river, at the bottom of a ravine, along with the Segway x2 that he was using, an all-terrain model.
