The Water Purifier is a deployable utility item that appears to be made of a re-purposed propane tank, copper piping and a sheet metal platform that keeps the Bucket in place. The (obvious) use of this device is to purify Salt Water.
How do you get water in Rust?
There are various ways to find water and food in Rust. Rainwater and rivers/lakes are the two primary water sources. You can create pumps and place them near bodies of water, or you can craft Water Catchers.
Can you drink sea water rust?
Salt Water can be drunk directly from the sea by a player. Salt Water, upon ingestion will cause a small amount of damage to the player, as well as inflicting the Poisoning debuff and making the player lose hydration and nutrition points.

As of April 2, 2020, Rust received a farming update which completely revamped the farming system in the game. No longer will players be able to grow crops just by inserting seeds into the ground. Instead, players will be expected to give their plants water, sunlight, and fertilizer if they expect to grow anything.
